On June 12, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong held a briefing for applicants of virtual asset trading platforms on June 12, 2024. More than 60 participants attended, including representatives and their advisors from virtual asset trading platform applicants who were considered to have obtained licenses. Dr. Ye Zhiheng, Executive Director of the Intermediary Department of the Securities and Futures Commission, and Ms. Huang Lexin, Director of the Licensing Division and Head of the FinTech Unit, outlined the competency required of these applicants and explained the licensing application process and introduced their on-site inspection procedures.
