Gold Data January 16th News, January 15th local time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sebiya stated in an interview with local media that Ukraine announced early on that it would stop the transit of Russian gas and had no intention of reconsidering this decision. Sebiya emphasized that despite the emotional appeal made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at the December EU summit, Ukrainian senior officials clearly refused to resume Russian gas transportation. In addition, regarding Slovakia's voting rights in Ukraine's accession process and Fico's announcement of veto power in some EU aids to Ukraine as reciprocal measures against Ukraine's cessation of Russian gas transit, Sebiya warned Slovakia not to abuse the position of EU member states to resolve disputes, stating "If this happens, we will respond very strongly, which is unacceptable."
