Connext Airdrop NEXT Token will support interoperability across 20 chains by the end of the year.
Connext: Adopts a points-based Airdrop, plans to expand to 20 chains by the end of the year.
Recently, the blockchain interoperability protocol Connext announced the launch of its native token NEXT, with 10% of the total supply allocated for Airdrop. The NEXT token will be claimable starting September 5, and early users will be eligible for the Airdrop.
Connext was established in 2017 and is a "well-established" blockchain project. According to data, Connext has gone through multiple rounds of financing and has received support from several well-known investment institutions.
In the past six years, Connext has adjusted its business direction multiple times based on market conditions. In the early stages of the project, Connext focused on how to use credit cards to purchase cryptocurrencies. Subsequently, the team shifted its focus to Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solutions—state channels. Ultimately, Connext transformed into the current interoperability protocol.
Max, the Growth Lead at Connext, stated that Connext is a layer that allows all Rollups to interact and is the only cross-chain solution that does not add new trust assumptions on top of connected blockchains. It enables developers and their cross-chain applications to access smart contracts, liquidity, and data on any chain, unifying the fragmented ecosystem. With Connext, users can interact with decentralized applications from any chain using any token without leaving the application interface.
Regarding the airdrop mechanism, Connext uses a points system to determine the amount of NEXT that users can receive. This system takes into account the liquidity supply of stablecoin exchanges and the usage of cross-chain bridges, providing the highest point rewards to users who continuously and stably use the service.
After the token issuance and the launch of the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), Connext plans to expand the supported chains to 20 by the end of the year to facilitate the growth of the protocol and ecosystem.
Max also introduced some key features of Connext:
Connext is the first trustless bridge connecting Arbitrum and Optimism.
The architecture of Connext allows for the cross-chain transmission of any type of message, enabling developers to create cross-chain applications.
Connext does not rely on oracles or external validators, but achieves cross-chain communication through a native bridge that connects directly to the chain.
Multiple teams manage and monitor the network to ensure security.
Connext supports cross-chain asset transfers and allows developers to create various cross-chain applications, such as cross-chain lending.
Connext has implemented "chain abstraction," allowing users to interact with decentralized applications from any chain without needing to consider the underlying technology.
Multiple projects have built unique features on Connext, such as cross-chain trading, cross-chain asset creation, and cross-chain oracles.
Looking to the future, Connext will continue to expand its ecosystem, support more chains and application developers, and establish partnerships with key industry players to drive the rapid development of projects.
