With the continuous development of artificial intelligence technology, AI Agents are gradually becoming important assistants in our daily lives. However, you might misunderstand and think that they are merely simple script programs. In fact, the capabilities of AI Agents go far beyond this; they need to establish effective "connections" with users to unleash their true potential.
In the near future, we may have various powerful AI Agents. For example, the "Alpha Catcher Agent" that can automatically help you find and participate in airdrop activities; the "Wealth Management Agent" that automatically engages in arbitrage, participates in governance, and configures DeFi strategies while you rest; and even the "Socialized On-Chain Avatar" that can vote, speak, and accept tasks on the blockchain on your behalf.
However, the application of these AI Agents faces a critical issue: how to securely obtain user authorization and prove that they are indeed executing the user's delegation?
This is where WalletConnect comes into play. It serves as an important bridge that "connects AI with people." Its workflow mainly includes the following steps:
1. User authorizes connection and establishes Session.
2. The agent reads the session to obtain on-chain behavior permissions within the specified range.
3. The session can carry WCT credit limits for resource invocation and governance participation.
4. Multiple agents can share the session structure to form a "collaborative signature structure".
This process is similar to authorizing Alipay for automatic deductions in real life. Through WalletConnect, you can also authorize "DeFi Agent" to automatically adjust your LRT (Liquid Restaking Token) portfolio daily.
Why is it said that without a connection protocol, it is difficult for AI Agents to be applied in practice? There are several main reasons:
1. Users cannot personally sign every operation.
2. Directly exposing private keys poses significant security risks.
3. The connection session is the only controllable and traceable access intermediary.
Therefore, we can regard the connection protocol as a "license" system for AI Agents. It provides a reliable guarantee for the secure operation of AI Agents and user authorization, enabling intelligent agent technology to fully leverage its powerful capabilities while protecting user privacy and asset security.
