AI evaluation platform Yupp raises $33 million in funding, Blockchain-driven new model.
AI Evaluation Innovation Platform Yupp Secures $33 Million in Funding, Blockchain Technology Drives New Model
In today's world where artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly popular, accurately assessing the performance of AI models and enhancing user trust has become a significant challenge. Traditional centralized evaluation methods are unable to cover diverse scenarios and cannot truly reflect user preferences. At the same time, the "hallucination" problem of AI models frequently occurs, causing users to often find themselves in a dilemma when making choices.
To address these issues, the emerging platform Yupp has emerged. It is committed to reshaping the discovery, comparison, and utilization of AI models through a unique crowdsourcing model and incentive mechanism, bringing a revolution to the field of AI evaluation.
Team Background and Financing
The founding team of Yupp has a strong background in the technology industry. Co-founder and CEO Pankaj Gupta, co-founder and AI head Gilad Mishne, and chief scientist Jimmy Lin all have work experience at giants such as Twitter and Google. They founded Yupp in June 2024 with the aim of building a "trustless" AI feedback marketplace that allows user feedback to flow freely under the incentives of Blockchain and the crypto economy, forming a scalable, fair, and transparent model evaluation system.
With its innovative concepts and strong team, Yupp recently completed a $33 million seed round financing. The round was led by the renowned venture capital firm a16z, with participation from several well-known figures and scholars in the technology industry.
Core Features and User Experience
The Yupp platform upholds the philosophy of "AI for Everyone" which allows users to easily discover, compare, and use various AI models. Unlike traditional single-response systems, Yupp returns answers from multiple models simultaneously for each prompt, forming an "AI Parliament". This design not only meets the user's demand for diverse choices but also helps to identify potential "hallucinations" in the models, assisting users in making more informed decisions.
Currently, Yupp supports over 500 AI models, covering the fields of text and image generation. The platform has also launched the "QuickTake" feature, which can distill lengthy responses into concise content. In addition, Yupp places a high value on user privacy, with all chat records being private by default, allowing users to have complete control over the sharing of content and its scope.
Economic Model and Incentive Mechanism
Yupp adopts a points system to incentivize users to participate and provide feedback. New users will receive 5000 points upon registration, and thereafter can earn more points by rating model responses, selecting preferences, and explaining their reasons. The higher the quality of feedback, the greater the rewards, ensuring users can sustainably use various high-end models for free.
The platform promises that points will only increase and not decrease, and that all models are currently available for free experience. Users will receive two model responses after each question, and can win a "digital scratch card" through feedback, rewarding Yupp points ranging from 0 to 250. Every 1000 points can be exchanged for 1 dollar, with a maximum daily withdrawal of 10 dollars and a monthly maximum of 50 dollars.
To further expand the user base, Yupp has also established a referral reward program. Both the referrer and the referred can earn additional points, encouraging more people to join the platform.
Yupp VIBE Rating System
In response to the issues with the existing AI rankings, Yupp has launched a beta version of the AI rankings and the "Yupp VIBE Score" rating system. This system aggregates preference data generated by global users in natural interactions, aiming to provide robust and reliable evaluation results.
Yupp's assessment principles include robustness and reliability. The platform not only collects binary preferences but also encourages users to point out the strengths and weaknesses of responses, and conducts clustering analysis based on user demographics to showcase preference differences among different groups.
On a technical level, Yupp is exploring the use of Blockchain, cryptographic primitives, and zero-knowledge proofs to ensure the fairness, transparency, and verifiability of the evaluation process. At the same time, the platform has partnered with professional AI data providers to ensure scoring quality through a multi-verification mechanism.
Development History and Future Outlook
Since its official launch on June 13, 2025, Yupp has been continuously iterating in terms of functionality and user experience:
Yupp's mission is "empowering humanity to shape the future of AI." By providing multi-faceted AI responses and collecting user feedback, Yupp not only helps users make better decisions but also provides continuous momentum for AI evolution.
However, Yupp still faces many challenges, including how to ensure data quality with large-scale user participation, prevent potential cheating behaviors, and seek a balance between commercialization and user incentives. Nevertheless, with its innovative model and strong team background, Yupp is expected to play an important role in the future AI ecosystem, promoting the vision of "AI for everyone, everyone shaping AI."
