Trump talks about the high risks of the presidential position, stating that the mortality rate is as high as 5%.
[Coin World] On Friday, June 28, local time, U.S. President Trump addressed the high-risk nature of the presidential position during a White House press conference, revealing for the first time the lingering effects of last year's shooting incident. When asked by reporters about the security threats he faces, Trump mentioned his experience of being grazed by a bullet in the ear at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024, stating, "It still jumps and hurts suddenly, but it’s nothing, it’s just a high-risk profession." Trump also compared the risks of different professions, saying, "The death rate for race car drivers is 0.1%, and for bullfighters, it’s also 0.1%. That figure may not seem high, but it does exist. Meanwhile, the death rate for presidents is as high as 5%. If someone had told me back then, maybe I wouldn’t have run for office. This is a dangerous profession." According to media reports, among the 45 presidents in U.S. history, 4 were assassinated, and several other presidents and candidates have been shot.
