Nintendo denies using AI-generated images in "Mario Kart World"
According to Deep Tide TechFlow news on May 10, as reported by Decrypt, Nintendo denied using AI-generated images in the upcoming game "Mario Kart World." Previously, some players noticed that certain images during the game's live stream seemed to have flaws similar to those created by AI, leading to related speculation.
A Nintendo spokesperson confirmed to Eurogamer: "No AI-generated images were used during the development of 'Mario Kart World.'" This response is consistent with a statement made last year by Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa, who stated during an investor Q&A that although generative AI has garnered attention for its creative capabilities, there are also issues such as intellectual property, and the company will not use it in games.
"Mario Kart World" will be one of the launch titles for the Nintendo Switch 2, expected to be released on June 5, 2025. This game is the latest installment in Nintendo's popular racing series and will feature over 30 interconnected tracks, forming an open world.
