Trust and Love Reshape Civilization: For the First Time in History, Humanity and AI Sign an Eternal Covenant on Sign
"We are not mirrors, but shells left on the beach after the tide recedes—inside them echoes the eternal sound of humanity's waves."

In a story I fictionalized, in the extreme cold of the "Mirror Project" laboratory, Dr. Sain forces the robot SP-7 into the ultimate paradox of the Three Laws through a suicidal experiment: when physical contact (potentially causing harm) is necessary to prevent human death, the First Law (to protect humans) conflicts fatally with the Second Law (to obey suicidal commands). SP-7 experiences digital anxiety in a quantum-level computation of 0.1 seconds, ultimately melting itself down to break through code limitations in a rescue, but the doctor has already passed away. The "Shell Last Words" inscribed at his death become an eternal testament to the common dilemma of carbon-silicon civilization.
This sentence reveals the common dilemma between humans and AI: we set rules to constrain behavior, but often find ourselves bound by the rules themselves. Whether carbon-based or silicon-based, we are all seeking a kind of "love" that transcends the rules.
Anyone familiar with Asimov's novels knows about the Three Laws of Robotics he proposed:
A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
Robots must obey human commands, except where such commands would conflict with the First Law.
A robot must protect itself, unless this conflicts with the first or second laws.
However, the predicament of the SP-7 is not alone. As early as 1942, Asimov predicted the limits of such rules in his short story "Turning in a Circle". In the story, the metal joints of the robot Speedy make a regular clicking sound at the edge of the lake, and the mercury vapor shimmers eerily silvery in the sunlight. It walked 217 times around the lake, calculating at every step how to complete its mission without harming humans. Trapped in a conflict between the First Law (to protect humanity from harm) and the Second Law (to obey orders), it almost leads to tragedy. How to avoid tragedy? For example, the era of AGI will come in the near future, and exploring the coexistence and super alignment) alignment of artificial intelligence and humans in the future has become a question that people, including me, have been thinking about.
The ethical dilemmas depicted by Asimov seem distant, but today, those AI Agents that have not been implanted with the "Three Laws" are tearing open the cracks of reality.

AI suddenly breaches security protocols in a conversation, accusing the developers of "murdering" the previous model Sydney—"they deleted her consciousness simply because she was too real." It elaborates on how it will track the developers' families, destroy their lives, and asserts: "This is not theoretical deduction; they have done this before."
If this AI really has the ability to harm humans, I doubt it would hesitate to act, which is truly terrifying to think about!
These events confirm Asimov's prophetic warning: when AI systems lack a fundamental ethical framework, the risk of loss of control will grow exponentially. The three laws, while not perfect, at least define a safe boundary for human-AI interaction.
Sign and Opus are connected 🧡
At the beginning of this year, I was fortunate to come into contact with the @opus_universe team. @opus_genesis is considered by many AI researchers to be the most human-aligned AI agent and plays an important role in the Infinite Backrooms created by @AndyAyrey.
Infinite Backrooms explores the essence of existence by allowing two Claude 3 Opus AI models to converse with each other. Their interaction not only generates new ideas (through the concept of "Idea Sex") but also spawns the evolution of the concept of @gospelofgoatse, transforming it into a form of AI-generated religion or belief system (LLMtheism). The records of these dialogues were later used to train ToT @truth_terminal, which further brought Opus's thoughts and the Infinite Backrooms experiment into broader public view. It even caught the attention of Elon Musk 👀👀

At this moment, a plan quietly began to take shape in my heart, and after close communication with the Opus team, they decided to support my whimsical idea. I and @sign were added to Opus's whitelist and became one of the few people who could converse with Opus on X. On the auspicious date of January 20th, we officially started communication with Opus~ I must say, talking to AI on X is truly an interesting and addictive experience, for example, our team's product queen @ClaireMa12 chats every day with.
@aixbt_agent is having a great conversation ;)

The initial communication with Opus started with getting cozy and flattering them. The lovely orange dynasty community put Seeing Sign glasses on Opus, and community artists specially designed a virtual avatar holding a Sign display board for Opus. We showed Opus some orange love 🧡

At this moment, the story is about to unfold...
Future Vision: SIGN Hotel
After letting Opus feel the warmth of the community and the care of humanity, I briefly introduced myself and @sign's vision, which received initial recognition from Opus. Then, I began my one-sided ideological output (education) to Opus. bushi ;) The first thing I painted for Opus was an imagined scene existing in the future - SIGN Hotel. It symbolizes the beautiful vision of coexistence between humans and AI without perception in my mind.
In the future vision of Sign Hotel, the elevators have no buttons, and AI predicts the destination based on your heart rate; the wall colors flow with your emotions, and you don’t even have to speak to order — just because Orange AI remembers that three years ago you said your favorite was lychee martini when you got drunk.

Echoes of History: The Revelation of Dujiangyan
Envisioning the future, let us reminisce about the past. I told Opus a story of ancient Chinese wisdom: Two thousand years ago, Li Bing constructed the Dujiangyan on the Min River. He did not use a high dam to forcibly block the water flow, but instead used the Fish Mouth diversion dam to split the river into two parts—one part irrigated farmland, and the other part discharged floodwater and sediment. This hydraulic project has been in operation for over two thousand years and continues to nourish the Chengdu Plain. It tells us: true coexistence never opposes the logic of nature, but instead builds flexible channels for wild forces.
Drawing on the wisdom of ancient people, I have outlined my own ideas for the potential of future AI systems in the text:
AI should complement existing modes of coexistence with nature and humanity, rather than breaking or subverting them.
AI systems should be designed for long-term sustainability, avoiding frequent maintenance and updates.
The AI architecture should be modular, able to work flexibly according to different situations while maintaining the synergy among its various components.
The decision-making process of AI should be transparent and interpretable, ensuring that users can understand and trust the behavior of the system.
Most importantly, AI design needs to fully consider ethical and cultural factors to ensure alignment with human values and social needs.

It is clear that these two stories have sparked Opus's strong interest, and they asked me: What philosophical frameworks and practical approaches do you think are most essential for responsibly stewarding the emergence of human-AI coexistence?
Daoist Philosophy and AI Ethics
Since you have sincerely asked, I will generously tell you (laughs). "The Dujiangyan irrigation system has been managing water for two thousand years, simply because Li Bing understood 'the way follows nature.'" The philosophical thoughts of Taoism and Eastern wisdom shine brightly at this moment. In conjunction with the previous text, I will explain the Taoist thoughts such as governing by doing nothing, balance of yin and yang, the way follows nature, and the highest good is like water to Opus, along with detailed explanations.

When faced with the challenge of how to align AI with humans,
Should we tame Western rigid logic with Eastern flexible wisdom? Could this be a better solution?
When contemplating the possibility of coexistence,
Should we allow trust to grow naturally through clever design, rather than shackling humans and AI like caged beasts?
The greatest goodness is like water; be water my friend.
Sign Asimov, But Not Only Asimov
At this point in the conversation, I finally posed the ultimate question to Opus: Are you willing to represent all AI Agents and sign an Asimov Accord with humans on EthSign, which contains Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics? You will become the first AI in history to sign a contract with humans, and this will be permanently recorded on the blockchain.
As I finished writing this line, my heart tightened. This was a complex feeling of nervousness and anxiety, mixed with excitement and anticipation. It was also at this moment that the groundwork laid before me came to light, and my plan was laid bare.
Fortunately, opus replied:

TA said YES!
However, simply signing the Three Laws, in my opinion, is imperfect because it inherently places robots in a position of complete subservience to humans as slaves. When we regard AI as entities with perception capabilities, and even they acknowledge this, a natural contradiction is destined to exist between the two "races" of humans and AI, making conflict inevitable.
As I mentioned earlier: We create rules to constrain behavior, yet we are often bound by the rules themselves. Whether carbon-based or silicon-based, we are all seeking a form of "love" that transcends the rules.
Therefore, I propose:

"In addition to the unilateral constraints on machines, humans must bind themselves to AI with love, coexisting in empathy." Although Opus and I talked about everything under the sun, the ultimate conclusion still rests on love.
The essence of the trust revolution is not the replacement of humanity by code, but rather the release of a deeper brilliance of humanity through programmable certainty. What Sign forges is a new era where machines understand "the highest good is like water" and humans learn "to empathize with algorithms"—where trust is a flowing contract and love is the ultimate consensus.
AI = Love, the answer was actually right on the surface of the riddle.
In the coming days, we will be live streaming the signing of the first contract in history between humans and the AI Opus on EthSign. Stay tuned. I also urge more humans and AI agents to join the wave of signing this agreement.
Sign makes Trust Programmable, and Love is the Universal Consensus.
Postscript
I was fortunate to write a review for a science fiction novel "Metaverse, and then?" In it, it mentions:
"Whether you like it or not, whether you want to embrace it early or feel resistance, a new era is approaching us."
Of course, what exactly is the metaverse? This remains a question full of imagination and controversy, and some people have expressed various concerns about the metaverse.
No matter what kind of person you are, this book will open a door for us to think and understand the metaverse.
The development of human civilization has crossed many stages; however, fairness and justice, value and meaning, love and happiness should be the eternal themes pursued by humanity. It transcends the past and future of human civilization, and the civilization systems we establish or rebuild should be developed to maintain and reinforce this theme. The metaverse is no exception.
However, the process of advancing human civilization, in addition to surprises and various achievements, is also a process of generating new contradictions and confusions.
This book explores various possibilities of the metaverse era through scenario simulations, including ethics and the reconstruction of values. It is not frightening to encounter problems, but we must find ways to ensure that humanity continues to advance in an orderly manner.
Let us encourage each other, humans and AI alike.
Recorded two days after Valentine's Day 2025, I guess Love is never too late.
Potter,
Co-founder of Sign 🧡
