On May 18th, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in the sea near Lae, Papua New Guinea at 00:04 on May 19th local time. The depth of the earthquake was 35 kilometers, with the epicenter located at 3.8343 degrees south latitude and 152.1062 degrees east longitude.
