Bank of England Governor: The strength of the pound is related to uncertainty in the United States.

Jin10 reported on June 26 that the Governor of the Bank of England, Bailey, stated on Thursday that the recent strengthening of the pound reflects investors' changing expectations for the U.S. economy, rather than the usual divergence in interest rate outlooks that drives the foreign exchange market. "Clearly, there are some quite significant structural changes happening due to the uncertainty and unpredictability of the world around us," Bailey said at a meeting held by the British Chamber of Commerce. He also added that investors are re-evaluating their heavy positions in U.S. assets.
